Adwoa Safo urges Dome-Kwabenya delegates to back Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Former Dome-Kwabenya MP Sarah Adwoa Safo will address the entire constituency on Sunday, December 14, 2025, in a key meeting bringing together all delegates eligible to vote in the New Patriotic Party’s internal presidential primaries for the 2028 election.

The three-term legislator, still considered one of the area’s most influential figures, is expected to use the platform to rally grassroots support for her preferred candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

Speaking to GhanaWeb, she argued that the party should maintain consistency by backing Dr. Bawumia, describing him as a well-known figure across the country and the most recognisable option for the party’s future.

She praised his temperament, leadership style, and ability to accommodate diverse views, adding that his role in driving Ghana’s digital transformation has strengthened the nation’s global visibility and improved essential services.

Although no longer in Parliament, Adwoa Safo retains a strong following in Dome-Kwabenya. Many residents credit her with spearheading development projects that improved local livelihoods, and some still link the constituency’s 2024 electoral setback to her absence on the ballot.

As the NPP prepares for another crucial internal contest, her renewed involvement is expected to energise supporters and influence political dynamics in one of the party’s most significant constituencies.
