I was an NPP member before I became a judge; but will never support the NDC till I die – Dormaahene

The Dormaahene and President of the Bono Regional House of Chiefs, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Dr. Agyemang Badu II, has stated that he was once a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking in a viral video, the chief, who also serves as a Court of Appeal judge, dismissed claims that he is a member of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The chief, who was an ardent critic of the previous government, clarified that he has never been a member of the NDC and will never join the party.

Dr. Agyemang Badu emphasized that although he does not support or belong to the NDC, he believes in the vision of President John Dramani Mahama, whom he described as managing the affairs of the country effectively.

He added that anyone who claims the president is not performing well is “a liar.”

“I will never support the NDC. I am not affiliated with the NDC, and I will not support them till I die. But I have been an NPP member before. I joined them before I became a judge. The way President Mahama is governing the country, anyone who says it is not in the right direction is a liar,” he said.

The Dormaahene further highlighted the country’s economic performance, noting that the cedi-dollar exchange rate currently stands at GH¢11.49, which he described as a sign of relative stability in the foreign exchange market since President Mahama assumed office.
