 Hilda Baci breaks Guinness world record for longest cooking time

Hilda Buci, also known as Hilda Bassey Effiong, a Nigerian chef, has broken the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking hours previously held by Indian chef Lata Tondon.

The record was broken on Monday morning at 7:45 am, after Tondon had cooked for 87 hours, 45 minutes, and 00 seconds. Hilda has now cooked for 88 hours and 19 minutes, and she aims to cook for 96 hours, with completion expected at 5 pm on Monday. The chef has received massive support, particularly from Nigerians, celebrities, and politicians.

Notably, Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, actress Kate Henshaw, singer Tiwa Savage, and media personality Enioluwa, among others, appeared at the event. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu also visited the venue on Sunday to cheer up Baci.

Hilda has previously participated in the maiden edition of the Jollof Face-off Competition in 2021, where she made Nigeria proud by winning the competition and receiving a grand prize of $5000.

The remarkable dedication and talent displayed by Hilda Buci in her cooking endeavors have garnered widespread admiration.
